Do you have a problem with negativity?

We all know that negativity brings us down. It makes it harder for us to be consistent with training, perform well under pressure, and simply makes life less enjoyable.

Do this short test to see if you have a negativity problem:

Grab a paper, pen and stop watch - divide the page into two halves. At the top write on one side negative, the other positive.

Start the timer and write down 5 negative emotions as quickly as you can. Stop the timer when and only when you finish the 5th emotion.

Reset the timer and write down 5 positive emotions as quickly as you can. Stop the timer once you’ve completed all 5 emotions.

Compare the times from each column. Did you get through 5 negative emotions quicker? Or was it a cinch to get through 5 positive emotions. If you flew through the negative emotions, you most likely have more negative tendencies. Got through the positive faster? You are probably a very optimistic person who is quite successful in accomplishing all you training and staying positive in hard situations.

This is a a great litmus test to help you know whether there is a negativity problem and if you need to try to make changes
